To further enhance learning both at school and between home and school, the College provides students with a laptop. Most teachers set homework on Compass, a communication platform that is accessible both at home and at school.
Students in Years 7 to 9 participate in an elective program held on Wednesday afternoons each week. The program is designed to help students develop new skills, build strengths, lifelong skills and engage in structured activities. Elective activities have included soccer, cooking, badminton, basketball, art, tennis, pickleball, robotics, photography and swimming. Students elect the elective that they wish to participate in, with the chosen activity changing each term.
In 2022, 2023, and 2024, 100% of our Year 12 students successfully attained the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and were eligible for university entrance, should they choose to pursue that pathway. Our students have consistently demonstrated outstanding academic achievement.
In 2023, the Dux of the College achieved an ATAR of 98.15, while the Proxime Accessit earned 96.30. In 2024, Playford College reached a remarkable milestone, with four students attaining an exceptional ATAR of 99.95 and another achieving 97.20. Our 2024 Dux, Hassan Rachid, earned a raw ATAR of 99.45, exemplifying academic excellence at the highest level.
